 The work of Camila Oliveira Fairclough refers to the history of abstraction, pop art, the theory oflanguage and the ready-made. In the process of creating her works she appropriates elementsof everyday life -words or phrases read or heard, song lyrics, packaging and posters- andtransfers them to her subject, reducing them to their essential form. The questions of translation,rewriting and the remake form an integral part of the transposition process that the artistcarries out in order to deconstruct the tightness between the figurative and the abstract realms,thus highlighting the dichotomy between what is visible and legible, as well as the associationsbetween meaning, graphics and the sound of words.
